Blog
Each week I will be updating this blog on current events throughout the rest of my marketing minor. I hope to be able to look back at my experiences and grow from them, as well as promote my accomplishments! I hope you stick around to see how my final semesters go.

Over the summer, I used my marketing minor in a real-life experience. I worked with Safety Management Systems Inc.(SMS360), alongside their marketing assistants and directors. Throughout this experience I learned how to:
-
Navigate Asana to remain up to date with tasks and assignments to be completed.
-
Use Hubspot to update clientele information.
-
Curate blog posts and infographics on Wix and Canva.
-
Expand marketing ideas on safety management.
This internship was pretty straightforward. I could comprehend and navigate my work due to my marketing coursework at West Virginia University. A lot of branding ideas I had stemmed from my social media & marketing course. Having done social media marketing plans and audits for a local business elevated my confidence in my role as an intern.
Following this opportunity, I recently accepted a marketing assistant position with SMS360. I’m looking forward to the new experience and completing marketing research, selling with digital media, and distribution channels this semester at WVU.

This semester is quickly coming to a close with Thanksgiving being next Thursday. This past week, I've run into some issues with time management as I manage my two jobs along with my five classes this semester. I'm very glad that I decided to take three marketing courses this semester as they reflect on one another. It has helped me become more engaged in marketing and the different channels within it.
Social media and its growth throughout the years with new technologies emerging how can anyone keep up?

A strong and easy way to stay up to date on new advancements in technology is to be integrated into it. Having an overall understanding of how a platform works and ways to engage can help producers better understand the consumer market. Building your online presence can help build relationships with other businesses or clients.

I have found that my marketing 345 course has been exceptionally enriching in the sense of curating a social media presence. Sometimes I find it a little hard to market "myself" but it has become less and less awkward for me as the weeks have gone on.
This week I'm going to take the time to celebrate the holiday with my family and come back to crush the rest of the semester!

Hi Rori,
Your website is really interesting and I think anyone who reads through it will be able to find everything they would need to know about you! One thing you did that stood out included the letters of recommendation section. I think that is a great aspect that many websites do not have. One tip would be to include your descriptions of your previous experience under the "work" tab. Otherwise, your website looks perfect to me. You seem really passionate about marketing and photography, and that shines through on your website!
Hi Rori,
This website has really appealed to me. I love the colors of your webpage and the way you have everything designed. Your blogs are super easy to read and I think that will draw a lot more attention to your site.
Hey Rori! I really loved looking around your website. It is very easy to navigate and very pleasing to the eye! I love the colors that you used and enjoyed reading through all of your information. I think that an employer would be able to find everything they are looking for here. Very nice job!
